The
word Patagonia was given by the Spaniards referring
to the first natives they saw: The Patagones, making
reference to the large size of their feet.

and covers, mainly, the provinces of Neuquén,

.::
ITS CHARMS::.
This
region is recognized world-wide for its natural wealth.
On one hand for its petroleum, minerals, and water
resources. On the other hand, tourism has continued
to grow in the last decades, becoming one of the region's
main economic activities. Patagonia is characterized
by its natural beauty, some of which is still unexplored
and unique in the world. It has a great variety and
diversity of flora and fauna. The region is also characterized
by its different geographical resources. In the area
of the Andes mountain range, there are conifer forests
with millenary trees which still stand. As you head
east, toward the Atlantic Ocean, the landscape becomes
less humid, and plateaus and steppes predominate.
At the eastern limit, the Atlantic Ocean, with its
intensely blue waters, offers its own marvels, including
whales, dolphins, seals, sea elephants, killer whales,
penguins, etc....
